The Elaborate Media Walls of Vismara Design

With lightweight flat screens, how you design your media room is pretty limitless. Stand it on a console or sideboard, hang it next to the fireplace, or go all out and dedicate an entire wall to all things media. The media wall isn't for those looking for ways to hide their tech, but rather for those who want to show it off, but in a fashion that still ties in with the rest of the room. Companies like Ikea, Pottery Barn, and elfa all offer basic solutions, but for those looking to really make a statement, there's the Italian company Vismara Design.

Vismara Design specializes in creating oversized wall units that accommodate televisions, speakers, peripherals, and media. Each unit is designed with a style in mind -- art deco, modern, baroque, etc -- that frames your gadgets in a way that allows them to tie in with the rest of the room. That is, if you're room includes furniture that's just as decadent as the media walls themselves.

The pieces offer some nice storage solutions for DVDs and peripherals, but we wonder, are these too over-the-top or are they a refreshing turn from the flat and modern takes done by other companies?
