As renters without access to a washer or dryer, we've often dreamt of adding a washing machine somewhere, somehow within our rental (with our manager's approval, of course!). But finding space for such a large appliance can be a task in a modest sized 1 bedroom apartment with a smaller bathroom. Vismaravetro's shower and washing station cabin is an example of how usually divided spaces can be merged into shared utility, maximizing space and allowing you to wash both body and clothing in the same room.
The Vismaravetro bathroom was unveiled at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2010 and further information and shower enclosure solutions are available at their website. For those more DIY and budget-minded, the Vismaravetro can be the starting inspiration for your own shower enclosure + washer setup.

Not a bad idea for space usage, after all, how many people take baths any more? I know i don't, so the space wasted by a tub could be better used with a system like this. Only thing i'd do different is use a stacked washer and dryer combo and forgo the storage shelves.
Javarod: I know I like to use the tub, as plenty of my admittedly female friends regularly do too. Showers are very practical, but bathing is relaxing. I'll always want a tub, wherever I live!
