Q: I'm looking for a wall color that will accent this charcoal bedding set. I also have two accent pillows that I want to use as the design inspiration. Any furniture in the room will be dark brown. If it helps at all, the room is fairly small, about 9 X 12.

How about an warm oatmeal or putty color?
Ditto that. I'd go with a soft warm wheat-y color. (I'm sensing a wholesome grains theme here.)
Teal. Like Valspar's La Fonda Teal, seen here, or Benjamin Moore's Blue Spa, seen here (both old bedrooms.)
Paint color: DKC-62. I have this in my "parlor" with silvers and golds, love it.
benjamin moore has one called chocolate mousse that would look great (I think its benjamin moore).
Orange. I love Sherwin Williams Kumquat.
I vote for the teal/blue mentioned above.
I also vote for teal/blue. Maybe even a flat navy since the bedding looks like it has some sheen. I'm all for the bedroom being dark and flat navy walls would jut eat up light in such a nice way.
I think orange sounds awesome.... but not for a bedroom. I also think the blues would make the room feel very cold. I would go for the tan, oatmeal color.
A soft wheat or pale aqua/robin's egg blue would both be lovely.
I'd prefer the aqua, actually, as I think the wheat might be a bit too bland.
Alternately a pale shell pink would also be lovely.
If you have a smart phone Sherwin Williams has a free app called colorsnap. it allows you to take a photo or pick one from your library and it will create a harmonious color palette for you. You can edit the colors too and save the palettes which is great for experimentation.
I'm an artist so I use this free resource from adobe all the time http://kuler.adobe.com/
might be a bit advanced but don't let it intimidate you. select create then triad, enjoy!
If it were me, white, and acid green for the wall behind the bed.
(such as BM's yew green or exotic lime)
Yellow! I nice, light, sunshine yellow. I have a light yellow in my kitchen with grey highlights and it's lovely.
Seriously, yellow and grey go SO well together!
I would vote for light, bright "watercolor-y" shades of either turquoise, aqua, coral, sunshiny yellow, or a rose pink. Even a yellow-green would work. You could do two walls in the lighter hue and two walls in a darker shade of the same color OR go very light on teh walls and deeper on the ceiling!
I vote a light lavender or that benjamin moore light gray that has a hint of lavender.
For help on deciding what color to use, I recommend

Also see Farrow & Ball for some of the most gorgeous color combos that include your shade of gray: http://us.farrow-ball.com/colour-schemes/content/fcp-content
and if you want to get some fabric for window treatments or pillows once you decide on a color, try

hope that helps.
I don't understand why you would match the wall color to the bedding..shouldn't you match the bedding to the wall color..bedding you can always switch out but the wall would be too time consuming to switch when you are bored.
If you go to the Farrow & Ball website (which is great for inspiration), you can find a similar colour and it will show which colours work with that colour~including trim. Good luck!
I think the following link, is similar to the colour in the bedding~here are a few colour combinations for you.

It depends on your trim and floor coverings, but all in all I'd say a charcoal grey (darker than the bedding). If that's too heavy, then maybe a Tiffany blue.
But rethink the accent pillows - too much metallic is tacky, and there's enough metallic in the sheets already. Perhaps a light matt blue or white?
Yellow and teal! (ftw) :)
I would go for a striking teal blue colour - it looks fabulous against the charcoal, and is a complimentary colour to the yellow tones in the other accessories. I am now in love with your bedding :(
I agree with some of the previous, a pale aqua color would really be best. The best example I can give is what's on the cover of the IKEA catalog right now...it's perfect with the charcoal, the dark brown, and the gold accent pillows.
Deep wine red for the accent wall behind the bed and pale silvery grey for the other walls would be my choice!
I would go with lavender or a pinkish shade.
I agree with Midwestdiva and I was surprised noone suggested it earlier. I would do a very light purple, like a lilac. Even though its a purple color, it is still quite gender neutral, it's relaxing and its fresh. You're room will be easier to keep looking "clean" with a lighter/cooler color.
I'm seeing lavender here too, but not pale; almost a medium level of color. Also, I believe it is best to choose paint after bedding since bedding is more limiting- you can get paint in ANY color.
