Wall Paintings by Amy Wynne-Derry

We ran into painter Amy Wynne-Derry installing her large-scale panels in the downtown Providence Art Windows, and were excited to hear that she also does custom site-specific paintings for residential and commercial spaces. The dark side of us loves that her work is inspired by taxidermy and natural history collections, but the layered, graphic patterns are certainly bright and colorful enough to live with everyday...

If you're worried about the commitment of a wall painting, fear not — the paint can either go directly on the wall or on panels that are easy to remove if necessary. Amy works with clients to customize subject matter and color — she has even used glow-in-the dark paint to create patterns that only appear after the lights go out. And, of course, all of her paint is environmentally friendly.

For more information, visit Amy Wynne-Derry's website. You can see her installation in the Providence Art Windows at 191 Westminster Street through Septemer 11, 2009.
