Bryonie creates pieces using furniture that she finds herself, but she also does commissions using pieces that her clients give to her. We think this is a wonderful idea for updating, say, a piece of furniture that has been passed down to you that is dated and not quite an antique, but which has sentimental value.

Ercol Bar Stool
I did something similar to turn a $5 garage sale bureau into a changing table when my son was a baby (I think I got the idea from Better Homes and Gardens originally), just using Mod Podge and some maps from an old Atlas. It was a low bureau, and we replaced one drawer with a shelf/baskets and then decoupaged the maps to the lower drawer.
