Wallpaper is definitely a decor trend that's going still strong- but why not ignore the name and take your wallpaper off the walls and bring it up to the ceiling where it can complete a room or even become the main design feature! Here are 17 beautiful examples to inspire you to look up.

The vibrant colors in the watercolor wallpaper seen above are echoed in the nursery's art and furnishings, creating a cohesive whole.

Bright, bold wallpaper adds a playful touch to a glamorous living room.

Peacock feather wallpaper adds whimsy to a ceiling- without being as overwhelming as an entire room's worth would have been.

If you're not so bold but want to add some interesting texture, try something like this neutral ceiling.

This beautiful paper by Hygge & West is a popular one and is perfect for adding a little playfulness to any ceiling. Here we see it featured in a bold bedroom...

...and a sweet country kitchen.

You can play with simple patterns like the gold stars in this bedroom by Kristin F. Davis Designs...

...this cheerful, colorful gingham...

... or gold triangles that feel perfect in a little one's nursery, but won't be outgrown anytime soon.

If you want the ceiling to be interesting without totally taking over the look, stick with classic black and white, which is always on trend and will go with pretty much any other colors you choose in the room. Here's the black and white version of the pink wallpaper we saw above...

...and here some Dalmatian-esque spots coordinate perfectly with the black shelving while keeping the ceiling (mostly) light.
