A few days ago we looked at the resurgence of wallpaper in children's rooms. Yet among the vast array, none had wallpaper on the ceiling. So I was a bit taken aback when I spotted this space on Project Nursery.
My admitted love of yellow notwithstanding, I'm not sure how I feel about it. Could be great to stimulate a small baby, but would it be hard to fall asleep? How do you feel about the matching decoupage on the dressers? I'm reminded a bit of Charlotte Perkins Gilman's The Yellow Wallpaper, but at the same time I think Reagan's family is onto something here.
Would you venture to try wallpaper on the ceiling? How do you feel about the renewal of this phenomenon?

I think it is fun and whimsical. I know its not for everything, but I love the idea and execution. I'm sure it will be a pain to remove some day, but until then, I think it will be much enjoyed.
I quite like the painted ceilings i have seen recently but this pattern seems a bit busy for the ceiling.
Although, as a kid, I stuck a thousand glow in the dark stars and planets to my bedroom ceiling and it never bothered me. I slept like a dream in my milky way
I like the wallpaper, and I like the wall color, but (and yes, this probably makes me stodgy), but I think I prefer them in the usual orientation, which is to say paint on the ceiling and wallpaper on the walls. To me the example in the photo looks like the ceiling is closing in. Claustrophobic-ish.
In a consenting adult's room, great. In a baby's room? Not so much. Babies are easily overstimulated and to force them to stare at something so busy (in addition to the busy mobile over the crib) seems torturous. Babies do well in calm spaces and like busyness in places where it can be easily escaped if desired.
Cool look for an older child or adult's space though!
I think this is way too stimulating for a baby's room, plus it makes the ceiling seem super low. And I don't like that they used it on the dresser too. Maybe if it was different pattern.
I also don't like the death-by-mirror.
i really really love this room. cheerful and cozy at the same time. i actually like the feeling of a lowered room with the pattern on top. but i like cave/cozy spaces.
safety for baby?????
On a different note... look at the rocker!! Way awesome.
