Total inspiration! A London temporary pop-up shop created walls to section off the space out of drawers and c-clamps. An interesting look reminiscent of built in bookcases, it is a slightly funky and creative storage and space dividing solution...
...and an example of creative reuse, as well.

not feeling any of it.
First, why would you want your home to look like one of those monthly storage facilities? Second, was there some sort of flood that resulted in the need to hang all of the shoes and socks from the ceiling?
On a smaller scale this idea would work. Minus the C-clamps...
Love it! Total genius. I would absolutely use this idea.
I think this would also be great with the occasional drawer painted a bright solid colour. Could also do a cool shadow box installations.

I was thinking of doing something like this on a section wall in my basement -- only with deeper drawers, and no clips. I'd probably sand/strip the drawers, so they're not so dark. Could also work on an interior structure, like a bar, or a pop-out powder room. Still, I'm thinking basement -- or another rough-ish space: an industrial loft, or a cabin.
I'm with crowgirl. This is a fabulous reuse. I think it would make a striking screen.
The idea is good for an original store display, but I don't find it all that appropriate for a house : vertically you end up with very high and shallow shelf space, and piled up drawers are just not practical (after all, drawers were invented to not have to pile boxes and chests over each other, weren't they?)
