It’s official: modern baby has made it mainstream. Wal-Mart has introduced a line of nursery furnishings called Modern Nursery that looks surprisingly sleek while still staying within the company’s usual affordable product range. The Roxanne crib ($299.88) is made of pine, with all the expected features: drop side, teething rail, and two drawers under the crib (handy for blankets and extra sheets). The crib comes with an optional toddler bed conversion kit.
Also in this line is a changing table ($249.88), dresser ($249.88), very mid-century modern looking Bentwood Egg Chair ($34.72), and Tulip 4-piece crib linen set ($79.95) that is reminiscent of Dwell baby bedding.
Available only online, it should give affordable baby furniture competitors IKEA and the new CUB line by Netto Collection a run for their money.
