Luggage, like air travel, leaves something to be desired. Away is a carry-on that gets the Warby Parker treatment: well-designed, for a reasonable price.

Warby Parker alums Jen Rubio and Steph Korey created Away because of their passion for travel, and how the current market was lacking.

"We both have a personal passion for travel and felt like we were underserved," Korey says. "We thoughtfully planned our trips, but they fell flat in terms of having well-designed, affordable luggage. People deserve something better—a great product that makes travel seem seamless."

For them, the design is in the details—removable mesh organizers and compression inside, a laundry bag, a built-in charger underneath the handle— without literally reinventing the wheel (the wheels are 360-degree rotating Hinomotos).

The Away carry-on is currently available for $225, with two sizes of checked bags on the way.
