#10 is very welcoming..
all are nice but above are my favorites.
A quilt hung on the wall is a great way to balance a room that has an off-placed window. Just stop up the window with a piece of insulation panel cut to size, then hang to the quilt to cover the window but even out the space. I've done this over and over. I use a brass curtain rod, and ring clips to hand the quilt.
I have used quilts for a very very long time on my round breakfast table. I change them every couple of weeks. It really makes me happy to have a new look and enjoy these works of art..both quilts I have made and ones that were handed down to me and other I buy from artisans, Don't use them on walls but also love to use them at the bottoms of beds. Quilts are a great way to change a look so easily.
Got a bright red one above my couch and another in my bedroom, my mom made them so they have a sentimental value as well.
LOL when you click on picture 5 it is an old one , they removed the quilt!
I am really irritated by the "preserve exactly as is at all costs" crowd that loves to dictate how people use their possessions, so I'll just say, ever so quietly, that if you want to preserve your quilt, be careful how you hang it (#1 is not supported properly and is pulling out of shape and/or will rip) and where you hang it (#8 will not benefit by proximity to that radiator).
I'm a quilter so I have to laugh at Phred's post. ;-P When I hang a quilt I whipstitch a pocket onto the back to slide the rod through. If you have a very large or heavy quilt, using clips might cause it to rip and fall off the wall. The pocket takes a little time but, hey, it's cheap!
What a fun idea. I like the third image the best. The square shaped quilt looks fantastic hanging on the wall.
Ha. I was wondering about the quilt hung right behind the radiator as well. Fire hazard anyone? But love this post. All the rooms look warm and welcoming. Love the idea of using them as a headboard. Nice.
Fire hazard?? It's a radiator!
