For some reason when it starts getting really cold and snow accumulates on the ground — I can't stop thinking about wood cabins and being warm and toasty by a fire. Since a wood cabin isn't an option right now, I'll settle for some warm and cozy modern wood walls.
Putting wood on the walls is one of the easiest and most effective ways to make your house super cozy and yes, modern. Gone are the days off faux wood paneling and in are the days of using real wood. I really like the creative and unique look from Camille Soulayrol — she put small, round pieces on the wall instead of long strips. Of course this isn't for everyone, but I'm always a huge fan of reclaimed wood on the walls! Reclaimed wood offers different textures, sizes and colors and creates a one of a kind look.

White Enamel Four-P...
All of those homes look so comfortable! Of course, now I want to take a nap.
You could totally do the slices of log on a wall in a rental. I think it would look great to paint the wall dark chocolate first. Make it easy to install and remove my adhering with that blue putty that sticks stuff to walls.
I fell in love with that first picture when AP did Jon and Tyke's Home Tour.
Thanks for sharing it again.
OMG this is about my living room. I have wide plank wood from floor and ceiling the same color as the last pic (bedroom one) with light red oak under the carpets. I can't wait to paint cause a little goes a long way. Planning on leaving one feature wall that will have tv on it. that pic gives me a good idea of what it will look like thanks!
I love the look of wood. We don't have any wood walls, but our guest room has a dark wood ceiling. The room is a sleeping porch, so it's very bright and open. I think the wood gives it a cozy feeling despite the three walls of windows.
I really love that first picture, with the photo of the bed over the bed. I must have missed that house tour initially, but I am going to check it out right now!
(also, I think the second link might be mislabeled. Shouldn't it be Desire to Inspire?)
Huh, my parents must be trendsetters. They did the thing in the first picture in the home they built in 1980.
I have some pine on the walls/ceiling in my office and I love the contrast with the modern white floors and walls, it ads a warm, rustic feel to a modern space.

Love the second picture. Would love to do that to the family room wall behind the wood heater.
