L.L. Bean asks, "Is it wrong to love a doormat?" Don't think so. If you're reading Apartment Therapy, chances are that you're the type of person that loves something in your home that others find neutral, unimportant, or totally unlovable. An antique, sure. A favorite blanket, of course. But a doormat? Certain cleaning supplies? A storage container? Might sound boring to some folks, but we absolutely understand.
L.L. Bean impressed us this winter, and although we haven't seen this doormat collection in person, we like the simplicity, reviews, greenness (made from 100% recycled plastic bottles) and claim of durability that we see online.
A few examples:

Crescent mat, $49.95 (medium) or $129 (large)
Perfect-size 6' wide mat, $165-$705

Personalized pet placemat, $32.95
Anyone have a firsthand love (or less than love) account of pieces from this collection ??

I have these at every entry to my house in NH. We have 2 kids and 2 dogs. We LOVE them!
The best part? LLBean guarantees everything for life. We've had ours for 5 years and they've shown no sign of wear and tear...but if they do, all we need to do is take them back and they will replace them.
LL Bean's customer service is pretty legendary. It'd be hard to go wrong with these mats.
