Hooks are practically synonymous with the bathroom; they hang our bath towels up after a shower and hold our guest towels up for when we wash our hands. But the bathroom's not the only place hooks can help out, as evidenced by tons of ideas we've showcased on Apartment Therapy.
There are not only an uncountable array of hooks in many different styles, but there are also tons of places in the home you can use hooks to your organizing advantage, and ways in which you can implement them into your design. A quick round-up of ideas from posts we've seen in the past:
Back of doors A no-brainer. Great for towels, alternatives to coat racks and even preparing your outfit for the next day.
Entryway/landing strip Another brilliant but obvious place. You can use hooks for keys, for pet leashes, spots for guest coats, to hang baskets to store mail and more. You can also set the tone of your home and let guests know you are serious about organization.
Closet Piles of purses, belts, bags, ties, scarves, coats and more are no match when you incorporate the power of hooks in a closet.
Home office Extra extension cords and wires could be hung on hooks, as well as cute little holders for office supplies like pencils, paperclips and more.
Kitchen An oldie but a goodie: hooks are often used for hanging pots and pans to save counter space, but could also be used to hold small containers for spices, utensils and other kitchen goods.
These are just a small selection of the ways hooks have helped out in the home...we want to know how you utilize these affordable, easy-to-use and fun space savers! Do you have a unique way in which you use hooks or an interesting room in your home that sports hooks? Let us know!

Hooks: you can hang stuff on them.
JK :-)
I like the branch ones.
Hooks are great for open storage and quick access. I have hooks by the bed for clothes and in the foyer for umbrellas, keeping the floor clear. I stopped dropping clothes on the floor after finding a large Everglades racer in my dress after a nap. That'll never happen again thanks to my dogs.
There also are hooks by the back door. They hold a rag for wiping the dogs' feet when they return from the back garden, outdoors lighting remote controls, gates and workshop keys, and a walking stick for breaking up fights when the dogs sometimes find trespassing vermin such as opossums.
Like the wooden (twig) hooks. Might be able to even resin so they stay strong, but will have a glossy feel too.

They look kind of hazardous to my eyes.
I have hooks everywhere. EVERYWHERE. And still my boyfriend leaves his jacket on the kitchen table.
I've been considering mounting hooks next to the bed to keep clothes off the floor. Thanks for the encouragement @Miami's Elaine :)
I have small hooks mounted on the inside of my cabinet doors in the kitchen. Great place for hanging oven mitts, pot holders, dish towels, etc.
I am a renter but I have those hooks that you put over the door EVERYWHERE. I love em!
LOVE LOVE LOVE the branch hooks!
Okay, so, love branches and nature in the home ... but those particular hooks just look phallic to me.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one, prticipnobsrvr.
