This month's editorial theme is all about setting up home, and as the resident garden writer I struggled to come up with topics that fall within this theme... until I realized that I have never told you about Wayward Plants. Wayward plants is (among other things) a British adoption registry for unwanted plants.
Should you be moving out of town, have broken up with a significant other, or be downsizing or any other reason and need to find a new home for your plants, Wayward Plants can help you out.
The service is only in the UK — but they hold regular adoption events in an effort to find homes for abandoned, neglected, and stray plants as well as maintaining an online registry of unwanted plants. If you want to adopt, you simply need to fill out an application.
Wayward plants is manned by a group of designers, professionals, artists and gardeners who blend "social exchange with botanical desire" and have imagined a variety of other interesting events and concepts as well.
