We can't believe it! We just found out there's an entire holiday dedicated to cleaning off the most cluttered of spaces, our computer desk—and we missed it by two days!

January 11th was national Clean Off Your Desk Day. The holiday, which falls on the second Monday in January each year, uses the snowball momentum of new year's resolutions to inspire people to give their work spaces a little tidying up.

My personal favorite strategy is creating "Action Piles," then immediately acting on them. There's different stacks for things like "file," "read" and "trash." The papers then get filed, read or trashed before I ever get up from my office nook.
