Weather: The Effect of the Outdoors on the Indoors

061909-indooroutdoor.jpgYesterday, we were speaking with a friend in New York where it's been raining so much the local news station has nicknamed the city "Seattle on the Hudson." Here in LA, Gregory, along with the rest of us, have been frustrated by the June Gloom in our normally sunny environs. When the weather is perfect, as the weather in LA admittedly normally, we ignore it, but when it's not or when it's different, it changes the way we think about the inside of our homes as well as the outside...

When it rains or the weather's chilly and gloomy, we hunker down in the living room. We don't want to go out so we persuade friends to come over promising hearty pasta, a couple of good movies or we throw together a game night. We start thinking about rugs and throws and how to cozy up our home. Sunny weather, especially after a few days of rain or gloom, has us throwing open the windows, waking up full of energy, raring to get our home projects going. A clean fresh breeze blowing through the house, we want to clear out the house of clutter, roll up the rugs, take away the knick knacks, bring in flowers and plants, crack open a bottle of white wine & invite friends over for a barbeque. What about you? How does weather influence your relationship with your home?
