I've had a subscription to Wired magazine for something like seven years, and it's never steered me wrong. I may not own any fancy gadgets, but when I need to know things like how to make the best fake blood, I know exactly where to turn...

Wired's How-To section is chock-full of instructions on how to do basically everything. When it comes to Halloween, they've got us covered: make fake blood, build a giant spider web, and make fog, all the Halloween essentials. Of course, there's also how to hook up on Halloween, how to TP a house, how to make chain mail out of bottle caps, and how to make a Reddit alien costume, but since I don't know what a Reddit is, I'll stick with the fog.
