To put it simply: I don't need more cleaning products, nor do I have a professed love of Method brand products. But I will always have a need to clean my house to the exacting of standards. And if picked, all of these products will see repeated usage in my condo (my own unit and the hallways) to ascertain their effectiveness, including what sets them apart from other products (in addition to their proclaimed enviro friendly philosophy). If picked, I will take on this challenge in an unbiased manner.

We do love our Method products! I have to say that with being so smell sensitive these days (just at the end of the first tri-mester) Method has helped with the strange smells created by our 2 year old. Nothing smell so clean and non-chemicaly...

I bought the wood cleaner (center bottle) last week, and I was extremely disappointed. I'd recently been given a used dining table and was looking for a product to give it a little life. I cleaned half of it and I can't tell which half. No effect whatsoever.

Doug - I've used their omop on my hardwood floors at home and have been very happy. However, they are only a few months old and only need cleaning at this point, not new "life." I'm not an expert at wood finishes, so maybe someone else should be saying this, but...have you tried some type of wax? If the finish is old and worn out, a cleaner won't do much in terms of making it look nice and shiny again.

The new design of the dishwashing liquid SUCKS!!!! I recently bought a bottle and it was impossible to open and close the twist top with wet or soapy hands. It also leaked and dripped. A lot of soap ended up caked all over the top and sides of the bottle. Really annoying and also a waste of soap. The older flip top cap design was much better.

anyone know anything about the actual eco-ness of their products? by smell alone i'm suspicious that these aren't exactly Dr. Bronners meets Karim Rashid.

Thanks for the suggestion. Right now I'm considering using Murphy's Oil Soap to give ti a good cleaning, then buffing with paste wax. But I want to do some more research before I actually try anything. I'm working on a mid-century dining table and chairs, and although the set really needs some work, I want to be very careful not to ruin it. I'd picked up the Method cleaner on a lark. I'm sure it'll be fine for regular use on other pieces, but I was really hoping it was going to magically improve the dining table. I was probably working from an unfair expectation.

I've also got a lucite bar that I'm thinking of taking some paste wax to. It's got some light scratching that I'm hoping to be able to buff away. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

I have no idea if method products are in fact any better or different than any other commercial brand cleaners. I do know, however, that my brooklyn pad could use some sparkle. I just moved in and am in the process of an entire renovation which unfortunately includes cleaning remnants of the last tenant's cat out of every nook and corner. Not a smudge, dustbunny or toilet bowl will be missed, I can promise you that.
