One of our new year's resolutions is to be a bit more productive on the weekends. We tend to zone out on the couch with a book or an old movie (which is fine on occasion) -- frittering away hours that could be spent doing the things we always talk about doing, but never find the time to actually accomplish.
One such thing? Fixing some of the drafts in our super drafty apartment. The first thing we're looking at is the windows.
We were inspired by a very in depth how to post at Plenty magazine. A little fearful of a caulking gun? Yeah, we are too. But after reading the directions over at Plenty, we feel pretty confident we can actually accomplish this project in a couple of days without too much confusion.
All you need is:
- Caulking gun (ask to borrow your neighbor's!)
- Putty knife
- Old rag
- Lead test kit (if your paint is really old)
