The holidays are almost here and if you're anything like me, you're well aware of the list of things to do before company comes. But see my downfall is I'd rather procrastinate all of it and do something fun instead. I'm thinking the making of a new table could be just the distraction. Want to see what these birch logs look like now?

We stopped in over at Homepodge to check out the latest happenings and came across this fun project from Love Where You Live that was originally featured on Better Homes and Gardens.

The basis for the project is simple. Make a wooden box and then screw birch logs to it! Although it probably weighs a ton, if you live in an area where this sort of tree is in abundance, it shouldn't be any big deal to watch Craigslist for folks who might be cutting them down and offering the wood up for free or cheap.

Want to see the full tutorial? It's easier than it looks but will get you some major diy brownie points! Check out all the details and the materials needed over at Love Where You Live.
