We don't normally post about decor from the 8th century, but then we also don't regularly find French Merovingian-style toilets for sale. The Herbeau Creations Dagobert Throne Toilet is fit for a king and even chimes "Le Bon Roi Dagobert", with a voice reciting the Musset poem when you lift the lid, and a bell chimes when you've flushed. We don't know whether to be amused or horrified (mostly by the $10,000 price and the idea that we'd have to listen to a poem each visit to the loo).

I'm going to have nightmares about that toilet. Although the matching pitcher for the scrubber on the left is totally fab.
I am almost scared to ask what the little cup in the arm of the chair is for...
This is a great Christmas gift idea for my father-in-law!

I thought I had something humorous to add. But I'm still laughing too hard from your post to remember what it was! I had a father-in-law like that too.
And he was convinced "his" didn't stink either.
