Beyond Silicon Alley, we've now got Blog Alley. It's just seemed to happen over time, that bloggers have gravitated beyond lower Broadway and over to Crosby Street. This pic is taken by Harry (MoCoLoco) of yours truly right before our big Design BlogFest Party last month (see below).

Come visit! The streets are busy.

On any given day the blog mafia is networking and quaffing early morning lattes at Balthazar. See Lockhart Steele (Curbed, formerly Gawker) over there in the corner? He's doing deals, getting ready to be in the NYTimes again and slaying the ladies...

At the top of Crosby (and a bit right) you'll find Jen and Jake in their Gothamist offices pounding out the local news.

Down a bit at Crosby and Prince, Nick Denton is exiting his house and heading down to the Gawker office where the Gawker army is hunched over brightly lit screens, tapping furiously on their laptops and pissing people off (to the delight of others).

Next door, The Apartment, Stefan Boublil's firm, is designing and blogging, while Graham Hill from TreeHugger is currently living around the corner on one of his frequent stops in town.

Core77 is just over at Broadway and Prince, while Carley Roney and David Lieu's The Knot (and The Nest) have offices that back on to Crosby at Grand Street.

And waaaaaaay down on the end at Howard Street and Crosby, you'll find us, the Apartment Therapy folks heading out for lunch in Chinatown or for a salad at Cafe, Cafe after a successful morning of blogging house and home.

Want to start a blog? Come on down to Blog Alley and join the club; there's still some good office space and empty store fronts left.
