We're huge fans of Parisian pastry chef Pierre Hermé's incredible macarons and have even stood in line to get a taste. So we were excited to see that The Selby got a peek inside Hermé's Paris apartment. The apartment has the great bones typical of Parisian apartments —a gorgeous fireplace, the chevron patterned floors, and huge windows. Hermé's decorating tastes seem to lean towards modern clean lines, and he uses an AT favorite to warm the space up — books!
Hermé has filled the shelves with books, there are books in the kitchen, and there are stacks of books on the table. He's done a great job of accessorizing the shelves — they're not too full and he's sprinkled in objet d'art to give the shelves some visual interest.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Interesting that the photo of the kitchen does not show his oven. I know he does not make these famous macaroons or pastries from his home but you would think to see an oven in the photo.
i like that he has a richard serra book. thats a sure sign of a smart-art person.
the photo AT picked doesnt show the oven. you can see it in a few pictures on the real site.
borrowers arent good choosers.
Woof! Hehehe.
I don't think it's possible to visit one of his shops *without* waiting in line.
Not only are his macarons a huge draw, the shops are too tiny for more than an handful of people to be inside at one time.
Wow, he looks happy to be here!
isn't that sort of like saying, "i'm a big fan of such-and-such as an author; i've even read one of his books"? i was pretty much under the impression that you can't try a macaron unless you wait in line, or show up first thing in the morning.
sorry, kinda off-tangent. the apartment is nice, but herme looks pretty darn bored.
Pierre Hermé's is a cutie. He can make my macaroons anytime.
I would have appreciated seeing more of his living space. Closeups of books may tell me about the him but not his apartment.
Yea for books!!!
macaron. macaroons are a whole different animal.
