Wesley (19 months)
We decided not to find out the sex of our baby, so a gender-neutral nursery was a must. I had envisioned a soft and soothing space with touches of whimsy, and since the room is quite small, we wanted to stick with a light palette.
The first thing I found were the vintage nursery rhyme prints which I fell in love with and became the inspiration for the colours in the room. The wooden alphabet letters around the perimeter were purchased online and came unfinished, so we primed and painted them and then installed them above a simple chair rail. They add so much visual interest and fun to the room, but still seem to fit the calming vibe we were going for. I love giraffes, so there are also a few of those featured in the room.
Wesley is just about to move out of his "baby" room as we are expecting our second child. It's been a warm and inviting space for him to play and sleep in, and we hope it will serve our next bundle of joy just as well!
