July is travel month at Unplggd and I'm happy to tell you that I'm leaving for Boston in the morning and spent last night packing. In an effort to save some cash (read: I'm broke), I decided not to check luggage for my weekend trip. That means that with space at a premium in my carry-on, I have to edit my travel tech selections...

But the reality is that some things had to stay back and keep the TV and stereo company back at the house.
I decided to bring my BlackBerry, because I couldn't detach it from my hand if I tried; my iPod nano and charger, to keep the tunes flowing during the wait at the airport and on the plane; and my digital camera with an extra memory card, for the all-important trip snapshots. The laptop and a few power cords had to stay back. I'm just running on the hope that my batteries will last the weekend.

Laptop charger
SD card reader
Digital camera
Digital camera charger
Portable Hard Drive
For a weekend trip:
iphone & charge
digital camera & charger
noise canceling headphones
for a weekend trip
charged cell phone
charged digital camera
charged ipod (with charger if I plan to watch vdo)
all three of the above will last for two or three days on a single charge as long as I don't use the video functions for long swatches.
and depending where I'm going
laptop and charger
digital cam
iphone loaded with movies and music
DS lite and about five games
chargers for all
memory cards
iphone, stock headphones
digital camera and charger
mini memory card reader
thumb drive
17" macbook pro and charger
optional:
small external hard drive

ipod classic
It was difficult to find a good bag that fits a 17" laptop with all the extras. I wish f-stop made bags that size but Tumi has a rather nice one. I can easily make a mobile office out of it and I don't have to take the laptop out for airport security. I highly recommend it.
iPod charger
smartphone charger
digital camera charger (sometimes)
noise canceling ear bud headphones
I'd love to have one universal charger that could charge everything. That would get rid of about half the bulk.
For a 4 day weekend in England, I'm taking
ipod nano, with little earbud headphones
digital camera, fully charged
little gizmo for reading memory card
beloved 12" powerbook g4 and charger
my American cell phone
my English cell phone
one charger that takes different interchangable heads to charge each of my gadgets
2 plugs that convert American to British plugs.
My Kindle.
I am a Reader. My Kindle goes everywhere with me.
Macbook with chargers etc.
Digital Camera with extra sd cards
Ipod nano and charger
a few books or e-reader
Cell phone
Headphones, earbuds etc.
If I am traveling 200 miles south to visit the family, I bring the cell phone charger, the iPod charger, and depending on how long I'm staying, the camera w/ battery/charger. (the battery charger just plugs into the wall, instead of messing with cords.)
When I went on a cruise, I brought along a power strip, since there are very few outlets in the cabins. Then I can plug in that to the wall and plug the other chargers into that.
