Q: What can I do with this great cart? It's from a print shop, designed to carry big stacks of paper so it's very sturdy. I love how it looks and how well machined it is; it rotates in place, has brakes! I thought of using it as a bookcase although it wouldn't be very practical.

Sprout Side Table
You could put 2 wooden shelves on each quarter, following the same angle as the upper base
I like the bookcase idea. or to stack magazines. I have 300 design mags, and although I have agreat storage piece for them, that's definitely how I would use this.
stack books u dont really need to look at very often.
if you had a big enough bathroom it would be great for stacking washcloths and towels..

I second pamh's idea for bathroom storage. It could be spray painted or powder coated white.
Is it magnetic?? I kind of like it for a base for mail, messages, phone charging station, etc. a couple baskets on the bottom for mittens, etc
Magnets a a couple magnetic hooks. Depending on how many people in the house, each perso could have one of the sections.
Love that idea for magnet hooks, landing strip! I'm feeling kitchen pantry more than bathroom. It's getting to be winter time so mitten storage is becoming an issue. One corner for dog gear ...
If it was mine I'd turn it into an indoor farm!
I'd buy 4 units from Windowfarms (http://www.windowfarms.org/) and position it near a window and turn it a quarter turn every day or so to share the light evenly, or perhaps hook up some LED grow lights and string them through the holes at the top. I love the idea of picking fresh herbs and salad greens from my own indoor farm when I'm cooking.
I'd use the bottom shelf to store my modest collection of gardening accessories and a few gardening books.
I also like the idea of the magnetic hooks - great idea!
is that top divider removable? if so, an end table with a large pottery lamp next to the sofa would be my choice. otherwise stck to the book concept.
My friend Alena suggests that you use the upper part of the cart for jewelry and the lower part to stack extra cushions. You can use one of the upper quadrants for a mirror.
If you can't stick magnets on it (or even if you can), try sliding dowels through the holes of two adjacent holes on those upright panels. Then you can suspend items from them.
How great that you have these quadrants to work with — they can represent the 4 seasons, the 4 elements, the 4 horsemen of— oh, skip that one...
