Wall Color for Relaxing & Chic Bedroom?

Good Questions

Q: My friend needs your help. She's a newly divorced mom and has just bought a mostly great house in upcountry Hawaii with an awful, dated peachy-gold splotchy master bedroom. The good news is that it is a blank page - she has no furniture yet so whatever color she chooses can set the tone for the room (the furniture in the picture belonged to the previous owners).

She probably couldn't say what her style is exactly, but I would describe her as nature-loving but quietly sophisticated. She's not girly, and she likes clean lines but also some ethnic touches. The colors I see for her are soft silver greys and seaglass blues and greens, but she’s also surprised me (in a good way) by telling me that she likes Benjamin Moore Mysterious, a deep gray with a bit of blue (the swatch shown above).

What do you think: is this color too much for this bedroom? Maybe just as an accent wall behind the bed and if so, what on the other walls? Also, any suggestions about window treatments would be super-helpful (most of the windows face east). Help this righteous babe get the relaxing sanctuary she deserves!
