You know how there are people who prefer to spend their money on "things," and people who prefer to spend on "experiences"? Well, I think you can be both. In fact, it's quite a joy to travel the world and then bring back beautiful or fun little trinkets. Those inexpensive little things can be valuable; carrying the memories of where you've been.
Me? I collect koozies. I think they hit the perfect travel collection trifecta: They're inexpensive, easy-to-find, and actually really useful to keep around. That's just a tiny part of my collection above, with a few of my favorite travel finds (yes, Biscuits N' Porn is a real place in North Carolina). I keep my favorites in a glass globe in the living room, within easy reach for any guests who need a cooler to wrap around their beer.
One of my favorite lifestyle bloggers, Meg Biram, recently showed off her matchbook collection. In the post, she talks about how she added to her collection of local restuarant matches with a few new finds from a trip to Zurich. Meg's collection hits on the same points mine does–cheap, simple and useful–but I know we're not the only two to keep travel collections.
So we want to know: What do you collect from your travels? How did you come to start your collection? How do you display your trinkets? Share your thoughts in the comments.
