Do you love the way the light hits the end of your bed in the morning even if your room is the size of a postage stamp? Do you have an amazing view — even if you hate the color of your walls? We've spent the month talking about all the things we want to change in your bedroom but now we want to hear what you love about the place you rest your head at night!
Even though we all have different spaces, sometimes hearing what others love about their room can help you to find a new appreciation for your own. We might not always be looking for a lamp or the perfect bedspread — or even when you have those things we can still be missing out on the small joys. What do you love most about your own space? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

Nomade Express Slee...
In my room I LOVE my bed! I dont care what the room looks like, but as long as my bed is comfortable thats all that matters. Soft Sheets are the most important thing!
I get the rising sun in my bedroom! It's so much nicer to wake up with the sun, than an alarm clock.
If I could have an future "rules" for my places, it would be bedroom windows face east, living room windows face west, all with a southern exposure.
the windchimes hanging above the radiator. it was such an odd place to decorate around, and it looked sad with nothing over it.
so above it i have 2 staggered hanging capiz shell windchimes. they're amazing in the spring/summer when i sleep with the windows open.
My BED! Nothing is as good as sleeping in my own bed, with my own pillows (battered as they are).
I love waking up to the sunlight in the spring and summer, and I love our new curtains.
I love my birdseye view of San Francisco - I'd be thrilled to say that I enjoy seeing the rising sun when I awake in the mornings, but lately w/ all the rain and fog and "Daylight Savings Time" I've forgotten what that's like...
I also am thrilled with all the storage I installed years ago - my PAX wardrobe system with all the enclosed shelves, 12 drawers and organization racks plus my nice-sized vintage walnut Broyhill Brasilia dresser definitely makes putting things away and keeping the place tidy a breeze...
...and finally, I love my gallery wall where I have a mix of vintage and new impressionist paintings of boats - so calming.
The sound of cruise ships sounding their whistles as they enter NY Harbor around 7am on Saturday mornings.
I love my new bed, the size of my room & closet and the hardwood floors
I'm in student accommodation, so I hate most of my room! But the view of the sun setting on the city in the evening, and the hot sun on my bed in the late afternoon is simply wonderful. The room may be awful, but I will sure miss that window when the lease is up!
I love that I can see the twinkling lights of houses and cars on distant San Francisco hills from my bed. Part of what my bedroom overlooks is a tangle of freeways, but they're far enough away that they look beautiful, especially at night. My bedroom also gets morning sun, which is always welcome!
All of my old furniture. It's all inherited - my bedroom set belonged to my grandparents, and my big overstuffed armchair was in my house when I was growing up. I have so many memories surrounding my furniture. It's a lot to live up to, and it's nice to wake up in the morning and go to bed at night with that in mind.
I love the view from our window; the huddled Swiss village massing with pinky-orange tiled roofs and all the rich vegetation. I love the trees at the side of our property, and how when they are bare you can see the balls of mistletoe, and I love our cedar hedges, ivies and roses, and all the flowers that have naturalized in our lawn -- crocuses and daffodils, chives, primroses, and all sorts of tiny ones I've never seen before.
I love knowing that when it is completely quiet, I can continue to laze in bed, and when I hear the planes start in the distance that it is time to wake up.
I love using the pillows that my grandmother, who died many years ago, made for me.
I love waking up to the sweet surprise of my 4 year old son curled up beside me clutching his green bear -- he loves to sneak in during the night when he needs a cuddle.
I love hearing the boats going up and down the Mississippi. I also enjoy hearing the coliape! Also on this side of the river from the Quarter, New Orleans seems so peaceful in the mornings.
I love waking up to my dog looking at me like I'm the best thing that ever happened to her.
@applebomb - I'd have to agree with you. I'm also lucky to have a huge window that's as big as a queen bed and a smaller one on another wall. It lets so much light in.
I love the view from my bedroom. The first thing I see in the morning is my neighbor's giant tree. It instantly orients me; bare but hopeful in the winter; flush with twittering birds in the spring; green and lush in the summer; gorgeous with autumn colors in the fall.
I love the moody gray-green color of the walls on a cloudy day.
My bedroom has windows on three wallss. N, W, and S. facing. It definitely helps to wake up to natural light, and since our windows are old (1924), I usually wake up to the sounds of the birds chirping or squirrels chattering in our back yard. And yeah, I love my bed and soft sheets too. A
I love that I can look out the windows from my bed and see what the weather is like each day. I also love that I can hear the birds chirping in the morning, like a natural alarm clock.
I love that my window faces the water feature in my apartment complex, and if I leave the window open a bit I get to fall asleep to the white noise of a little stream and pond. I love my new bed, even if it's way too high - I can store a ton of stuff under it and I feel like I'm sleeping in a cloud. I also love that the first thing I see when I wake up in the morning is my bookcases full of books and my cello hanging on its hanger, ready to be practiced. Unlimited potential!
I love hearing the far away train whistle late at night -especially in the summer when the windows are open.
I love "the view" from my windows -right, smack into the center of an apple tree! Birds love that tree and I get to watch them from less than three feet away. Just this morning, I saw two yellow finches! :)
Love my big antique armoire, my ceiling-height ficus lyrata, the wonderful bench windowseat with storage, the sheers-softened light from our huge windows, tall corner shelving full of books, African violets, art, and my sweet grandkitten.
Love my bed - comfy, cosy, perfect. I also have deep gray walls with ice blue and white on the bed. Very comforting and welcoming! Have hard wood floors however have a plush carpet underfoot in my bedroom.
I meant "cozy"...
@mjs7640
Absolutely! My husband and I joke that our dog's first words (to herself) in the morning must be, "I'm so happy you exist!" repeated continually for about ten minutes. This is during the time she waggles her whole body and wants to snuggle at the same time.
Pets = love :)
Love my big plant in the bedroom, a Monstera. It get's new leaves weekly. That plant makes me sooo happy!
Definitely my bed! I no longer have the view of looking over hills and water from my bedroom.. but being lazy in bed on the weekends is the greatest!
My fabulous bed (and the man I share it with), and my "Thunder" gray walls.
that I feel calm & safe when I go there
husband's quite nice, too
My quilts on my bed that have been made by my mom, an aunt, and my grandma - three closets - and a big bay window :) Heaven :)
Skylights! And the perfect shade of white paint on the walls and ceiling.
I love my ceiling. Since I sleep on my back it's the last thing I see before I fall asleep and the first thing I see when I wake up.
I tried to make it look like the ceiling inside of a luxurious, tropical bungalow, so I painted the ceiling a juicy, smooth avocado green and created a faux tray ceiling by using white painted 1x4s and making a 3x4 frame in the center of the ceiling with a woven grass in-set.
Yup, I love my ceiling. I can't wait until I can get a canopy bed to compete the experience.
the four poster bed i built myself with help from my sister and the Sealy "bowling ball" mattress that sits on top of it, plus the fibre bed that sits on top of *that* and the soft, smooth 600-count sheets!
:-)
Our room was our daughter's and we switched so I love that is painted like a magical forest complete with glowing stars and fairies when the lights are turned off : ) I don't have the heart to paint over it. Mostly because it took me a month to paint!
New, comfortable mattress and pillows with good-smelling, line dried sheets on wonky, old, inherited iron bed. Textured glass multi-pane windows, so no curtains: bright, Brisbane sun filtered through flowered vines (or cold dog nose in my ear) wakes me up. First thing I see is a black labrador smile, because he's put his face on my pillow to say good morning. He's so happy, that I'm happy too.
I love that almost every accessory and piece of furniture in my room has a story. I only bought maybe two or three items new...everything else was either a hand-me-down, a found item or a thrift shop/flea market/garage sale purchase. But miraculously it works because I found a throw rug that seems to pull it all together. At least in MY eyes!
I love my orange curtains- we keep them closed in the winter against draft and the light filters in and makes the entire room a saturated orange color. Even with all the grayness and snow outside, our room is a deep orange jewel box.
My incredibly comfortable bed, the artwork over it, the size (not huge, but definitely roomy), my large, mismatched nightstands (a desk and an old drafting table), and the hardwood floors. I just wish I had operable windows and a bigger closet, then it would be almost perfect.
bed bed bed!
@Rosie2: Those toes are skeeving me out too!
We live right across the estuary from Oakland, and we can hear all the trains. I love to hear them at night. And we have afternoon sun that warms up the bed. Best nap spot, ever.
@ bepsf
Your room sounds just lovely. I particularly love the idea of a wall of boat paintings.
What I love most about my room is the view of the mountains I get when I wake up in the morning. Also really love right this moment when the temperature is perfect outside to just crank open the casements and sleep with the moonlight pouring in. Also really helps that I have a fantastic mattress.
I just bought this duvet cover and it makes me so happy to wake up to the bright colors every morning.
I love that after almost 4 years in our fixer-upper... our bedroom walls were *finally* painted last week! The kids' rooms have been done for years, but the Master is always the 'laster'. Now it's a lovely shade of light green. Heavenly!
The view. Even though I live in the city in a high rise, I am on the fourth floor across from a park. From my bed the view out my bedroom window is just trees and sky. I could be out in the middle of the wilderness.
i love the view, roller shade and curtain. also how small, cozy the room is.
silence, roominess, remoteness from the rest of the home, blue-white calmness and my two wonderful cats curling on the bed with me when I read.
My bed. It's the reason me and my boyfriend got together so I love how sentimental we both feel about it. I email the old owner every now and then to let me know how we're getting on with it!
I love my bedroom walls. The color is called 'Shark Loop'. It's a pretty gray-blue and against the white trim and white curtains it's awesome!
My wife and I picked out everything together, and we're both happy with it. It's truly "ours," not his or hers.
Big fluffy duvet and perfect mattress, plus 4 dogs.
I love everything about our bedroom. We re-did it 2 years ago and still love it. Here's the highlights: Brown/Yellow/Orange color combo (think peanut butter, burnt orange and dusty yellow); investment piece was the gorgeous walnut dress from Room & Board (sleek & warm at the same time); photo collage above the bed (wedding photos & vacation shots); new closet (wider doors & organization system); new lighting (found a fabulous ceiling fan that isn't ugly and wall-mounted bed side lighting).
I love my bedroom because it's big and airy! I thought giving up a walk-in closet would be a big sacrifice when my husband and I moved, but this one is so big, it hardly matters. I love the way it looks when I turn on all the lamps so everything is softly lit and inviting.
Agree with:
Grey-green walls - I have a few dashes of yellow to perk it up, but this color is SO relaxing.
My Bed - it's the one place me, the spouse, and 2 dogs and in past times our daughter, can all be at once, comfortably. It's the best place to start your best day and end your worst. I would add to that flannel sheets from November - March and a featherbed topper.
My view - 2nd floor window facing the woods -wildlife and a pond. Perfect first look every morning.
Dogs first thing in the morning - although I think all the wiggling and happiness really means "Im so glad you are awake because you have thumbs, so feed me and let me out please?"
My fab McRoskey mattress set and the fact that I have a giant closet attached to the room!
Your dog comment made me smile, TSPInterior Design.
But, really, what love is more pure than cupboard love?
My very light green walls and floral headboard. The sound of birds at first light.
The touches of silver and mirror that add sparkle to the room. My art.
I love my chandelier. It's gorgeous...a black string drum shade, silver and has a few baubles. Love it.
I love the transom windows that keep the privacy but let in the precious light.
My bedroom is the smaller of the two..and is located in the back of my home, facing the woods. Lately, I see a family of deer in the mornings just meandering along... I love the sound of the birds. I like the smallness of my room and the dark brown color with white trim...very cozy. My bed is very comfortable and I can hang out here for a long time. Also, it's very quiet...no noise when I'm sleeping.
I love the view we have of Bath Abbey which is all lit up at night.
I love that after years of cluttered happiness (really?) and 23 years of marriage I made my bedroom MINE. My colors, my set-up, my wonderfully retro mismatched furniture. I walk in and feel an instant sense of "ahhhh". It's warm, quiet, UNCLUTTERED and oh so (the was always there, just didn't know it) me!
