We've got a friend who, after two or three cell phone changes in the past month, still isn't happy with his cell phone. His old phone (which he had for several years, you should know) was working for him, but it was just about to go kaputz and couldn't be replaced. After trips to the AT&T store, he came home with a Tilt; which had most of the functionailty he required, but he hated feeling like he was going to break a phone with moving parts (his old gizmo was a brick phone); then with a Samsung Blackjack II, but he thought its user interface made it too difficult to conduct his business. Now we think he's after the Blackberry Bold, after the urging of friends and family that it's the best business phone out there. But after telling a few non-mutual friends about his debacle, we came to the conclusion that he's not alone in feeling like there's no phone out there for him. Each of us has some must-haves that we seem to be lacking on our handhelds...
Here are my must haves (well—wants, really):
- MicroSD card slot
- WiFi connectivity, when available
- A decent camera, with flash
- A large screen
- A QWERTY keyboard with real keys
- Number keys that are still marked with the telephone keyboard (This has been a pain with our current Blackberry Curve: If the number is 555-PIZZA, we have to borrow someones phone or google "phone keypad" images or count through the alphabet just to get our hands on a slice.)
- A 3.5mm headphone jack
What about you guys? Do you have a phone that does everything for you? Do you have any missing features on your current phone that irk you daily? What is on your phone wish list?
