1. Vitra Mini Chairs
The desire to own these little mid century reproductions probably stems from my little girl years when I played with dollhouses, decorating them with miniature furniture pieces I hoped to own one day. The interior design skill set started early!
2. Hama Bead Creations
From one of my favorite blogs, Fine Little Day (if you don't read it you should!) Swedish blogger Elisabeth shares her collection of Hama beads. Cute, dainty, colorful and done right. Love, love, love.
3. Nesting Dolls
When I was little I was given a real Russian stacking doll by my parents when they returned from a trip. I was obsessed but struggled with how to display this doll in my bedroom: do you display them nested or not?
While I can't seem to harvest a collection of the material kind, I do a pretty good job online. Until I can overcome my fear of kitsch and clutter (and my fear that I just might be "over it" once I start collecting) I'll stick to my collection-of-sorts on Pinterest and Flickr. Who says collections can't be in the virtual form?

Commercial Flour Sa...
In my fantasy world, I would have a wall full of Dale Chihuly paintings. There would be one fantastic glass piece (no need to be greedy :) )sitting on an antique table in front. Some day...
Nesting dolls are such a great collection! I've always been fascinated by the tiniest one!! Definitely should be displayed un-nested!
Would love to see more about collecting... I am a huge collector... if you are ever interested in featuring more collections see my blog: http://wwwilovecollecting10.blogspot.com
I am a collector!
Every once in a while I come across an item that transfixes me... and the collecting starts!
I have a hallway wall chock full of foundry molds... a small bedroom wall (from ceiling to floor) of Florentia gold leaf mini frames and mirrors... my office is my 'kitsch' room; the window is flanked by two cubby organizers full of fiesta teacups and such. I also have an art wall- full of (almost!) all originals. And last but not least, european pottery... I have a very small (6) collection of which I'm very proud off.
My latest obsession are drawer pulls and knobs... trying to find a way to display them and have been stuck for months!
My dream collection would be danish pepper mills.
Come to think about it collecting and hoarding are just one thin line away from each other LOL
I'm not a collector either. I tried to collect things when I was a kid, because it seemed like something I was supposed to do, but I never could really get into it. I don't have negative feelings towards collections, I just don't understand the mentality/appeal. My husband is a little bit of a collector though.
But if I were to collect something it would probably be Friendship pattern Pyrex and matryoshkas.
Link for the chairs???? I love them!
Vitra chairs. Hit the nail on the head with that one. As a recovering Barbie addict, I NEEDED these 1:6th scale bits of lovely. Sadly, I could never afford even one. Now I could, but know it'd be an addiction.
Man, I hate these collecting posts.
What makes this one worse is that you didn't even go as far as you would expect.
Collect . . . pieces of rock stolen from the 7 wonders of the world, or the 500 most famous paintings of all time. The "can't" portion of the post becomes so much more meaningful when you can't collect The Last Supper because it is a fresco and can't be moved, or how 500 paintings wouldn't fit in your 900sq ft apartment.
Cars because you are too poor and again, space issues.
Homes by famous architects.
Cities.
Ever home ever lived in by any of your ancestors.
Get some imagination!
