What Is the Best and Cheapest Way To Ship a Sofa Cross-Country?

Good Questions

Q: I need to ship a 125 lb sofa cross-country, from Florida to California. It doesn't matter how long it takes, and I am needing to stay under $500 and would like it to be well cared for. This seems like a big ask so far, from all the calls I've made to different places. I've also found a number of shipping methods under $600, but they have terrible reviews. All the ones with good reviews seem to be way above $600.

Also, most moving companies no longer allow piggy-back rides cross country for single items of furniture, and the ones that do have a price and/or weight minimum that usually starts at $800. Does anyone have any specific suggestions? I would really like to find a decent place/company with good reviews that doesn't charge an arm and a leg.
