What Is the Best Way to Remove Odors from a Dresser?

Good Questions

Q: So for a wedding gift to myself and my wife last year, my mother gave us some old furniture, including a corner curio cabinet and a very large dresser, formerly used by my grandmother, that we've been using in our living room to hold our TV and multiple game systems.

Lately, however, the dresser we had been using in our bedroom has proven to be too small for us. We want to move our current entertainment center to the bedroom and start using it as a dresser again, but there's one problem.

The problem is that the drawers in the dresser have fabric bottoms, and with age, they've taken on a strange smell. I've tried spraying the drawers with Febreze fabric refresher, but the funky scent doesn't seem to leave. And we're worried that whoever uses it will end up with strange smelling clothing. Is there any way to salvage this and change its use, or will it just end up remaining our entertainment center?
