Q: I love the look of these chairs and how the spindles come together at the top, but it's impossible to shop for them since I have no idea what they are called. Inverted Windsor/spindle/ stick back? I have no idea. Help!

I'd say a laid-back-milking-stool.
PSKR was right, but here's a better link

Suggestion; use google image search (search by image) to find a name to attach to a picture.
Dangerous.
Uncomfortable.
It looks like a reduced-windsor-chair-of-sorts. I've never seen anything like this before and I'm not sure if an official name for this style actually exists.
@apium: ditto on that.
Also: ill-advised.
ugly.
u guys are crazy, those are rad!
Also unique, and thus unnamed, because they originate from New England and are almost in the craft category, each artist has their own name for them. Never mass produced, some would say for safety reasons, I would say because Olivia your ahead of the times for spotting this and the rest of us (me) have to catch up!
I would call it wrong.
Oh ya, crested comb back is a common name for it
I don't know why or how--but that chair hurts my eyes, and makes me dizzy and nauseated. It's like looking through binoculars while riding a roller coaster. I think I need to go take a nap.
They're called AWESOME!!!
Cool. But back-killing.
Uncomfortable.
My guess is it's a Windsor with Danish Modern influence that has recently been molested in Brooklyn.
I'm with "ugly". Just because something is hand crafted does not mean it works. These look uncomfortable, therefore non-functional, and they are awkwardly shaped, so (to me, subjectively) not attractive.
Those of you who love them, have at them! ;^)
ugly and uncomfortable
While I don't particulalry care for the portion of the seat and legs that are painted matte slate blue, I think the design (while I don't know exactly what it is, I agree it's a minimalistic Windor chair of sorts) is super cool and unique! I think if the entire chair was painted a high gloss enamel in a Chinese orange or other poppy color, it could really become the focal point of an area or small room.
For everyone who is stating that it looks uncomfortable and unsafe, look at all the famous designer and architectural "art piece" chairs that are out there (Dubreuil's Spine Chair comes to mind) that many people would kill to own! This chair has both form and function as it could serve for additional short-term seating in a pinch. I'd rather have this cool little chair than the ubiquitous (not to mention the numerous knock-off replicas) of Starck's Ghost Chair, which I honestly think isn't that comfortable either! So, phbbbbbt! to all of you! heh.
could be mid 20 c. copy of mid 18 c. chair, definitely tippier than chair w/ 4 legs
or homage
I saw something like that on Flickr claiming to be Paul McCobb:
