There are a few indisputable facts of life: The toast will always fall buttered-side down. Your grocery line will always move the slowest. And of course, you will lose the TV remote if it's not bolted down. And where do you end up finding it? "The couch" is the most cliche answer, but Logitech sought out to discover once and for all where most people lose their living room remote controls.

It's 49 Percent!
Peripheral-device manufacturer Logitech surveyed thousands of people around the world to find out where they've found their lost remotes. The answers were mostly predictable, with a few surprises thrown in:
- 49% found the remote in the couch
- 8% found it in the bathroom
- 8% in a dresser drawer
- 4% in the fridge/freezer
- 2% have found the remote outside or all the way out in the car
The freezer? Really? And the car? How do you get that far out into the driveway with your remote?
We've lost our remote in the sofa cushions more times than we can count, but our lost remotes are mostly found in the kitchen. When we get up to grab a mid-commercial snack, we always seem to grab the remote control with us.
How about you? Where do you lose the remote? Tell us in the comments!

I understand the couch, and ours ends up in there quite a bit, or at least one of them we are looking for (although just setup the harmony remote, so just one remote now, YAY). But, I don't understand the rest of these at all. If you get up for a snack, i can understand the remote in the kitchen, on the counter or table, but you would have to open the fridge or freezer, and set it down to get what you needed. That is just crazy. Usually for me, i keep my hand on the door handle and just grab whatever with my left, so I don't see how their mind says, set down whatever may be in your hand to grab new item. That is crazy.
Also I don't recommend taking the remote to the bathroom with you unless you have a tv in there, or keep lysol handy.
The Harmony 900 has actually forced me to be more cognizant of where I set the remote down, since it cost me an arm and a leg and I'm hyper aware of making sure not to expose the touchscreen to be accidentally pressed.
We have a box on the coffee table that we put the remote(s) in/on when we're done, so we rarely lose them.
The sofa, always the sofa.
I leave mine in a lot of places- I think the fridge has happened more than once... but we usually are trying to keep it away from the baby so the goal is to place it up high somewhere. the couch has probably been the destination only as much as the fridge, as a result.
Just to clarify- the fridge situation occurs only because we are distracted while getting up for snacks by the phone or baby and need to make a snap decision before disaster strikes. you gotta choose your battles.
I can justify the fridge one too. You are walking to the kitchen flicking channels, get to the kitchen and there's no bench space so you put it on the fridge shelf while you get a drink.
Guilty as charged.
