Hey, take a look at this! It's President Obama's afternoon snack. What do we spot? Butterfly crackers, cheese, carrots, and is that a slice of pear? This photo is from a meeting with President Obama's press secretary Robert Gibbs. Apparently they had a snack together. What a simple snack! We must say that the presentation takes it a step up above preschool, although we did wonder if mats and naptime were next? (via The Kitchn)

yes, Blandwagon brings up a point there. It is a snack and not luncheon. Should there be a service plate at snackies?
I think the White House staff follows protocol when setting the table, be it for dinner or snackies.
Why a press secretary takes pictures of a presidential snack is beyond me. Who cares?
I love that he's a normal dude.
I'd starve!
Who eats part of a fruit?
AT is getting desperate for news.
What I love about my life is that I can eat like the president... and not have to be bothered with running the country afterward.
no wonder he's so skinny!
It's the White House - You'd prefer that our President eat off paper plates?
And what's up w/ the snarky comment about mats and naptime - Have you seen how grey he's gotten over the past 3 months? You don't age like that from taking afternoon naps (unlike like ol Ronnie - who delegated nearly everything, took naps and never seemed to age...)
How is he supposed to run the country on such a small amount of food (even for a snack)? I hope he has a bag of cookies in his desk.
as though Gibbs isn't already a big enough idiot...way to capture it on film.
The same kind of afternoon snack on my paper towel just don't look the same.
