2012 came and went in the blink of an eye. Were we happy with the technological advancements? What's 2013 have in store for us and what are you most looking forward to in technology this year?
2012 saw incremental tech releases from Apple (iPhone 5, iPad Mini), Microsoft's foray into the tablet world with the Surface and an updated Windows OS, and oodles upon oodles of Android devices. Apple Maps put iPhone users in a tizzy until the Google Maps app was released, streaming video made even more inroads, and lots more tech dazzled and/or fizzled.
The LA Times predicts cars that block text messaging while driving and phones from Microsoft and Amazon. Technology News sees faster network speeds, better robotics, and an end to privacy. The Vancouver Sun expects major challenges for Apple and a leap in digital payments. CNN wonders whether Facebook will grow up and if Amazon will step up to battle Apple and Google.
Our own predictions show 4K televisions like this Sony ultra-HD set starting to creep into our lives as a "sooner than you think" technology, a comeback for Google TV, and better integration of TV and mobile. So what are you waiting/wishing for in a new 2013

What am I looking forward to? Home automation. I'm finally taking steps to get my lights automated and take care of some of those minor annoyances that can be taken care of by a simple system.
I agree with home automation. I've been working on doing this for a while (baby steps) and still haven't found too many great solutions. I am looking forward to more coming out. Especially those which will help me do this in my 90+ year old house...
I also agree on home automation, we have been hearing about it for years, with tablets as a interface I am hoping the time has come. AT please include more home automation user reviews.
Next it would be the ultra HD projector, love to sit close to a big screen.
