Q: Banners/bunting/garland are a very popular addition to children's rooms. I see a lot of them in pictures, but I never see what everyone does with the ends. Attached is a picture from my daughter's banner. It is located between the sconces, above her crib. Aside from a bow, what other ideas would you recommend for the ends?

As you can see below, we took it down because it looked weird without something at the ends!

Sheex Bedding
it might look pretty if you put it over the curtain, draped between the 'rose' parts. at the corners.
Or maybe put a magenta bow on either end
It may not work with your sconces, but I can also envision using two frames to cover up the end, so that it appears to be hanging between the art.
Maybe a door knob or similar attached to the wall, with the ends of the banner wound around it? Finish the ends with a tassel made from the banner or tape fabric?
Maybe put rings on the ends and hang from colorful hooks?
Or a hook like this one from Urban Outfitters: http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/catalog/productdetail.jsp?id=19743681
I make bunting just like this http://cecilymae.com/shop/letter-bunting/ and I always suggest it is hung from something, like along the edge of the crib, or along a shelf, or to a door, or across the end of a headboard. I think it looks a bit blah just hanging on the wall with nothing at the ends too!
Maybe oversized buttons would work?
Cupboard knobs. Or, if you're crafty, felt or paper BIRDS holding the ends in their mouths! "Put a bird on it!" ; )
or create a flower from the fabric used for the letters
I like the idea of the buttons also was my thinking. With some ribbon hanging down from it. Its been my experience not to hang it above the crib because both of my children quickly grew up to pull anything that was up there down! Also please do not attach it to the crib. Super cute room and bunting. I always thought of bunting as antique not trendy??? Like something at a bizzar or a town gathering would have.
Why not bows? They seem like a perfect solution in this room. Or perhaps small cloth dolls or animals?
I thought it looked fine without anything on the end but I am with everyone else I would choose an animal or a silhouette and cut it out of felt or fabric and put that on the end. The bird is a good idea or maybe take something that is found in her room and use that....tie it all together by keeping with the theme of the room.
Or maybe trailing fabric ribbons if you're looking for something simple yet tasteful?
Maybe a pair of white painted knobs? I'd think that would "finish" the string off and still be in the colors of the room.
I crocheted some flowers and used 3M picture frame hanging sticky things (whatever they may be called) to hang the bunting over my kids' window. It's pretty cute.
