We cleaned out our closet over the break and, after donating a pile of clothes, were left with a bunch of old hangers we were just about to donate when we saw this photo over at the Apartment Therapy Group Pool.
Not only is it a way to use some of our old hangers but a way to hang up some of the art we haven't yet gotten around to hanging in a way that's casual and easy to change out when we get bored (especially as we like to change the view of what we see when we wake up in the morning).

Am I the only one who doesn't have old hangers? First off- I just use the plastic tubular ones (I think they treat my clothes better). If I ever have extras, they always go straight to the guest room closet- where they're always needed if my family or relatives visit- or the front hall closet (we just moved up north from Texas and had to double our number of coats!).
It is a fun idea- although I'd like to paint the hanger bright red or something :D - also (in bright colors) this would be a great idea for kids rooms to display art!
A little OT, but any idea where you can still find nice wooden hangers? All the ones I have found are pretty cheap-looking.
I found a bunch of old wooden hangers at a rummage sale. They must have been from a cloak room, because each hanger has a numbered brass plate. Pretty cool!
I got a bunch at Ikea last year- decent quality and they had all the different styles.
Having anything in excess cannot be called being green - no way...(extra hangers)...why buy when u have enuf?
one thing to note...atleast this is not plastic and is metal and wood...
I've never been a fan of this trend and this is not one of the best examples I've seen of it either.
Not exactly inspired...
Thanks for posting my pic! It's a shame people want to hate on something as simple as wrapping paper and a coat hanger for simple design that can be changed out daily if wanted!! Oh well, can't please them all.
