What Vimeo Music Store Can Do For You

As you may know, Vimeo has released a new feature today, Music Store. What you might not know is what this means for you if you're not a video professional. Read on to check out a nifty video describing Music Store and discover how it can work for you.

Introducing Vimeo Music Store from Andrea Allen on Vimeo.

Last night we had the opportunity to take a sneak peek at the new Music Store that Vimeo has launched today. We have long been fans of Vimeo and love using the service to host the videos that we as a team create.

What is Music Store great for?

  • Discovering new music
  • Video creators looking for soundtracks
  • Helping you to create amazing party playlists
  • New artists to gain exposure

One of the things that's so exciting about Music Store is that unlike some other music source options out there, it is amazingly wonderful to search. The search functions are easy to use and you're able to find just what you are looking for based on specific moods that the music invokes. As you can see from the video above, sometimes this can have very interesting consequences!

Being able to find exactly the sort of track you are looking for is great whether you are putting together a photo slideshow to share with family, making your own short film, or creating a playlist for a party. There are over 45,000 tracks to choose from which makes the over 100 categories of metadata quite valuable in locating the sound you seek.

Since Music Store is built for more than just commercial video professionals in mind, there are three types of licenses. Creative Commons licenses (free, various licenses);
Personal, non-commercial, web-use licenses for the casual user ($1.99 per track); and
Commercial, web-use licenses for professional users ($98 per track).

Check it out today and see the Music Store for yourself, we're pretty sure you'll be just as impressed as we are. Looking for a better way to shoot your own videos? Take a gander at these posts:
