Have you ever made a horrible paint mistake? I sure have. When the issue of Domino came out that sported this dining room, I just thought the color combination was the chicest. So, I decided to use it as inspiration for my bedroom. My tiny, poorly-lit city bedroom. Oy.
A "Pinterest Fail" before Pinterest existed, this was the worst paint decision I've made in my life. Painting a ceiling when you're a sloppy early 20-something notwithstanding, the beige-y hue sucked all the joy out of my space.
I apparently didn't see the note about getting satin paint for the trim, because I just painted it flat like the walls. Not that I think it would've mattered much, because monochrome walls and trim are a specific look that doesn't work for everyone and every space. Sadly (thankfully?), no photos remain of my bedroom before I repainted the trim white.
Six or so years later, the walls are still cafe au lait, but I've finally decided on a color (Benjamin Moore Bold Blue to really embrace the darkness). I can't wait until it's warm enough to open the windows and paint!
What's your biggest painting fail?
