Q: I have a bunch of empty wine bottles that I've cut the tops off of using the Green Power Science technique that was recently mentioned by Emily at Re-Nest. What I would like to do is use the top piece as a wine glass (so the neck of the bottle would be the stem of the glass and the shoulders of the bottle would be where the wine goes). I have some interesting sand to fill the neck/stem with, but my question is, what should I seal the neck with to keep the wine in the glass?
...I was thinking some kind of wax or glue, but it needs to be safe for contact with food and it needs to not dissolve in wine or alcohol. Since I'll only be using the glasses for wine, temperature shouldn't be an issue (i.e. a substance that food safe and non-toxic, but melts at high temperature is fine.) Any ideas?
