Q - My bedside digital alarm clock just broke recently and was thinking about buying another one until I realized I could probably use my iPhone as an alarm. It'd be nice if I could dock my phone into a speaker at night, but I really don't need anything else aside from something that charges it and can play music. Do you guys know where I could find something like that?
A - There's plenty of options to choose from in the realm of iPod/iPhone speaker docks, but if you're looking for something simple you can check out the recently released Altec Lansing Octiv Mini M102 ($59.99). It's a small little package, but packs an attractive design with an affordable price. You can also run a custom alarm app that'll give you even more functionality when your iPhone is docked.
Another app-driven speaker dock you might want to check out is the iHome iA5 ($99.99). It's a bit steeper and comes with a larger footprint, but reviews have been pretty good and can be easily found at your local big box tech store for personal testing.

What is the app running in the first screenshot?
@Brandonhurham: Its the app provided by Altec Lansing to use with their dock.
My fiance and I have 2 of the Sony CPF-IP001 speakers (one in the kitchen, one in the office) because we like them so much - the sound is great, it charges the iPhone, and the footprint is small since it has a separate sub woofer that you can store under the bed or under the bedside table. Plus they're not super expensive ($130), although we got ours from redeeming AMEX points.
Do any of these let you see the time at night? That's the main reason I still have my bedside clock, even though i use my phone as my alarm.
@lesova - you could download the "Nightstand" app which stays on all night as long as it's charging. There is a sleep and wake timer so you can wake up to your music playing through the speakers or you can choose sounds like birds chirping, waves, rain, or whatever...fade in and out. And you can adjust the brightness by lightly touching the screen and dragging your finger up or down. It's amazing.
