Recommend Me a Great Dining Room Desk

Q: Hey guys, I know you're into the whole small space, work everywhere thing, so I was curious if you guys had any recommendations for a dining room table that can double as a desk? I live in a small 1-bedroom Chicago apartment and can't fit anything other than a bed in my room. Help!

A: Always happy to help out, Grant!

Let's see. Can we be a bit biased here? Yeah, we'll be biased. Ever since stepping into our local Crate and Barrel the other day, we've been obsessing over the Ypsilon table. The tabletop is a blockboard construction, veneered in oak, beech, birch or walnut, or finished in a white laminate or one of three standard woodstains (white, black or brown) on oak. The Y-shaped legs are constructed of solid wood, giving a nice sturdiness to the whole table.

Since you mentioned small spaces, you can grab either the rectangular, square or round tabletop (which also comes in several different sizes, all with a height of 720 mm). So, pick and choose. And if you do, take a picture so we can celebrate the table together.

You can grab the round Ypislon 42" for $300 or the larger 66" rectangular one for $450. Not bad, right?

But hey, subjectivity's always best when challenged with a second opinion. If you have a recommendation for Grant's search for the perfect dining room table desk, be sure to let him know in the comments!
