This is the second of our reports from Coverings 2013, the show featuring tile and stone from all over the world. Previously, we shared our favorite picks for new tiles with interesting patterns. This installment is all about texture — tiles you just wanna touch.
1 & 2. I was intrigued by the unusual, sculptural shape of these tiles from Petra. They also come in black (3).
4 & 5. More tile that looks like wood. This tile, from Spanish maker Metropol, even has the texture of wood.
6. These pillowy glass tiles from Hirsch have a big, luxe, 80s vibe.
7 & 8. M.C. Escher's fish and birds from Mosaico Solo.
9 & 10. Subtly textured hexagon patterned tile from Ceramiche Piemme.
11 - 13. These intriguingly topographic stone tiles are from Petra Antiqua.
