The Amish Project is Jake Reilly's self-imposed sabbatical from technology. From October 1st, 2011, he turned off his cell phone, deactivated all of his social media accounts, blocked all incoming email, and revisited what it was like before the era of the internet and cell phones. Could you do this? What's the longest you've gone without?

Sprout Side Table
When I leave the office, I'm unplugged from work. I'm rarely unplugged in total. I think it's something I need to do more often.
My Bahamas vacation in 2008 was the last time. Since then, my bosses (lawyers and sales people) have had no respect for personal time, and I can't do more than a weekend, even though I wish I could.
I've been on a few remote vacations where there was no phone, internet, tv, etc. But generally my job wouldn't let me disconnect, even if I were to get rid of all of my non-work-related connections.
