For the past year I've been obsessed with Craspedia (seen above). I can't get enough of their whimsical shape and bright yellow color. They're the perfect flower for my apartment and they seem to really liven up my place. I'm curious to know what your favorite flower is to add a touch of excitement to your space.
We all know the benefits of adding a floral arrangement to the home. I specifically love Craspedia because it doesn't look like a traditional flower. It's ball-like shape resembles more of a whimsical doo-dad you'd find at a store. Apparently it is part of the Daisy genus — who'd have known?
What is your favorite flower for adding a touch of fun to your home?

ginger flower. pink, if they got it.
Tuberose--elegant, inexpensive ($10 from Whole Foods, usually), and the scent is intoxicating. Not usually available this time of year, though. In spring I often get ranunculus. Graphic but casual.
Peonies, ranunculus, carnations and hydrangeas.
In Jamaica I love to decorate with:
Anthuriums
Gingers
Heliconias
They are affordable and can be found growing wild in the country!
Ranuculus.. love them and allthe colors they come in!
Thistles -- blue with silver green foliage. Wonderful.

I like Craspedia, Thistles...anything that looks like a field wildflower. They dry beautifully, too.
White phalaenopsis orchids are so timeless, and I love the rewarding feeling of getting one to grow a new flower spike. Plus they last forever.
For cut flowers, I like to use stargazer lilies. I love the smell so much. Otherwise, I like to buy a mixed bouquet and divide them up into little mini arrangements. Usually all one type of flower in a tiny vase. So cute.
Fresh tulips in any color in my favorite Jonathan Adler vase makes me happy!
baby's breath, mostly because i am horrible at taking care of flowers and they dry up all pretty by themselves when i forget to water them instead of me having to remember to go hang them upside down.
I really enjoy getting the giant bunches of mums at trader joes. They come in so many different colors, and they tend to last a long time before they need to be replaced. Some other flowers start wilting after 5 days, but with the mums, they last at least 10 days which is great if I can't get to the grocery store on my usual shopping day :)
Ranuculus or Sunflowers.
We get to pick flowers all summer as part of our CSA. I love sunflowers a lot, but also mixed bouquets of zinnias, cosmos, and a whole bunch of old fashioned flowers I can't even name. In the Winter I love alstroemeria lined up in a test tube vase, because they last forever. In Spring - the first bunches of cheap daffodils in the grocery store life my heart.
But I'm definitely looking for craspedia and tuberose based on this article.
White roses.
Alstromerias, tulips, gerberas
Green hydrangeas, green and white tulips, or green zinnias are my favourites probably.
Sea hollies are also awesome.
Ranuculus
gladiolas - big and last long.
Sunflowers - bring summer inside.
i can never find those, so i made my own pom pom style!!

Lavender. It grows wild in the the alley behind my house. I love that I can dry it and hang it on the wall or put it in a vase.
purple tulips, or my own fresh sweet peas
I love this question :
Right now Dahlias, Peony and Garden Roses ..
sunflowers, my fav flower ever. but flowers are expensive and die so quickly so i only have them every so often. i adore the ones you have pictured i have never seen them before though.
tulips
unless I luck into a bunch of anemones
which explains ranunculus as fall back
Definitely tulips here too
I get fresh flowers for my office every Monday (an inexpensive bunch from the grocery store,) and I've come to realize how many kinds of flowers I love now that I do this regularly. Some of my favorites have been simple cream-colored roses, purple tulips, pink freesias, and currently I have a funny, space alien-looking protea flower.
My all time favorite, though, is peonies, especially white and pink. Nothing better than luxurious, generous, fragrant peonies.
tulips, cornflowers, roses and wild daisies
Birds of paradise, they last forever and make such an impact. I'm also a sucker for a tiny, fat vase full of yellow carnations. Oooh, and white spider lilies.
I use a new type of flower "whichever is the cheapest at the store". It's affordable, and it changes every week, I love it !
Mimosas! In a vase or hanging on the wall
White carnations, maybe boring, but inexpensive and they look good in bunches or as a single in a small vase. They also last a long time. Of course if I'm feeling flush, I'll go for peonies!
Fresh lilac when in season, daisies, peonies and white roses if I can afford them.
Tulips, tulips, tulips... and peonies. Love spring.
Orchids... still attached to the plant!
I love gerberas. They are big and colorful! Also, tulips are favorites, too!

Tulips, peonies, gladiolus, hydrangea...I am truly a southern Girl! I also second "what's cheapest". Five dollars once a week at the grocery store can't hurt your budget that much to bring such beauty into the home!
I've seen gorgeous displays of scattered bougainvillea, so I'll go with that :) Preferably hot pink!
Forsythia, lily of the valley, grape hyacinth
Peonies
Tulips, lots of them, usually prefer the white ones.
where can you find crespedia?
White: calla lilies , tulips, roses, Gerbera daisies

Ranuculus wilt so fast; any tips to keep them fresh longer?
Yellow or white tulips. They make the room bright without being too frilly/girly
I'm not a cut-flower person, but I do like the sunny optimism of daffodils.
Freesias! They're not native, but they grow everywhere here, every spring. I also love gerberas.
Also, I've clearly been playing Pokemon too much - I saw the name 'ranunculus' and my brain immediately jumped to 'Reuniclus'.
