For us it's a total toss up between making handmade touches to add to our party decor and baking until our ovens are ready to explode. Both put us in full out stress party-palooza mode and make us more giddy than a kid on Christmas eve. But we know that's not the same for everyone, chime in with your favorite part about throwing a bash in our survey below.
There's always at least one small thing you can take comfort in while throwing the party of the year. Even if you hate house cleaning beforehand, maybe cutting out banners and making pinatas is more your thing. Share your thoughts in the comments below!

quality time doesn't get a piece of the pie?
My favorite part is assembling the party favors. I love coming up with a cool container and filling it with really unique stuff that goes with our theme. And I do love a theme! Past themes of ours: robots, knights, blue mice, bugs, legos, camping, , cats and dogs, bunnies. Also making the invitations. I love the planning part immensely.
I make the invitations, too. That's my favorite part. Each kid has a little scrap book with a page for each invitation and a pic from the party. They love to look through and remember all the themes. For my son we've done: jack-in-the-box, primary colors, dinosaurs, baseball, splish splash, international flags, Beijing Olympics, and peleton. For my daughter it's been cupcakes, bubbles and butterflies, and owls.
