my giant farmhouse window that i use as a room divider. I recently blogged about it. http://designspunk.blogspot.com/2008/12/rental-living-kissing-home-goodbye.html
i usually don't like wrought iron beds but that one looks great.
i don't repurpose...i have a literal brain, sorry.
Kat G, I covet that window! I'm surprised Urban Ore priced it so reasonably. Gives me hope.
My two antique medical/dental cabinets are my greatest joy, although they're not really repurposed... they're still, y'know, cabinets. But I'm planning to build my dream coffee table out of reclaimed barn wood and iron pipes or whatever else I find that fits the bill. I'm just now learning how to use the most basic tools. Pray for me.
the kitchen in the top pic is da BOMB
Agree--that kitchen is so nice I (almost) forgive it for having an island.
I use an old child-size bookcase as a shoe rack.
Nope - If it looks like a chair, It started out as a chair...
...but I have a friend/co-worker who turned two shipping containers into a Guestroom/Bathroom and an office inside his loft.
The bourbon-barrel stave chair is awesome. Why didn't I think of that? Oh yeah, 'cuz I DON'T HAVE ANY bourbon barrels lying around. Let alone a metal fabricating shop for the base...
I used pennies to re-tile the floor in my half bath.
Heads or tails?
Teeze, I think we'd all love to see a photo of your half bath!
"I used pennies to re-tile the floor in my half bath."
That I gotta see!
Now this is a game I love. My favourite soap dish is a ceramic souvenir ashtray of a lake with a leaping let's-say-trout. The bench by the tub is a reclaimed maple plank on steel pipe legs. My cookbook shelf is a beautiful battered wooden ironing board. My pride and joy? I store my drawing pencils in classic diner-style straw dispensers.
I'd love to see the pennies on the floor too! Got a pic to share?
All Heads. It's 90% done. just have to fill in the areas around the toilet and grout. It will be finished in time for our Hanukkah party. I'll send in pics soon!
I purchased the "insides" of a vintage trunk---covered in great vintage blue and brown paper and leather straps. I screwed it into a wall of our master bath and use it to house my undies. On top I keep towels and a basket of hats.
My media stand which is comprised of two 3'x4' stainless p.o. box units from an old mailbox company. Each individual box has its own combo lock.
